YEAHHH BOIII!

So our boys, The Bloody Beetroots have this track, "Yeah Boy from their EP titled Let Your Washing Machine Do the Talking:  The Bloody Beetroots Remixes.  It certainly shifts away from their usual heavy electro/punk stature.  The song is very much electronica-based but the bassline is less heavy and more melodious.  It has some raspy, Techno vocals with light keyboard beats, just  tinkling in the background.   Yeah, definitely unlike what I'm use to hearing but it shows the diverse variety that they're capable of producing.

Behind the track: "checksum"

From Monument To Masses has released the second episode of it's mini-doc series offering fans a preview of their new song, "checksum", the opening track on the band's fourth album on Dim Mak releasing in January 2009. The video offers a rare insight into the band's songwriting process and approach in the studio.

What's up with SHITDISCO?

Electrifying tracks, head-banging beats, crazy dance moves, and of course WATER  GUNS!!! Yup. Shitdisco has definitely made a name for themselves as the next Disco Punk/New Wave band to blow up. Many of you know, or will now know that Dim Mak is officially the home for these boys from Glasgow, Scotland. Since being part of the Dim Mak family, the guys have laid out some attention-worthy tracks. Reactor Party and 72 Virgins are no doubt crowd favorites. 72 Virgins has been revamped by The Bloody Beetroots, another member of the Fam. This track hits harrrddd, and the beats are insanely catchy. So after being back from touring with MSTRKRFT, the guys are ready to start off their DJ tour in the UK. As far as preferences, they have none!! it's just gotta be bassline and beat heavy. They're dropping everything from arpeggio bassline to euphoric rave with a touch of acid. From that, you can imaginel how mind-blowing the club gets when these guys hit the set. So, what can we expect from Shitdisco? More touring possibly... and continuing to give fans nothing less then amazing shows.

MSTRKRFT spills the beans..Well sorta.

Two years after their last MSTRpiece, the Canadian duo are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming, yet-to be titled sophomore album.   Many of us got a preview of their second album when the single, "B.O.U.N.C.E. ft N.O.R.E. made its way as an EP and on Myspace.  Not to mention it's one of the most popular tracks that many hipsters rock out to.  Their second single, "VUVUVU" has also made its way up.  During an interview with Billboard, the boys mentioned that, "Fans should expect heavy doses of it at future shows."  -Awesome! Just what I like to hear from these two.  Nonetheless, I am even more intrigued to see what these electro Masterminds have under their belts.
The duo's front runner, JFK explained the process of completing the album and his opinion of the first one.  The Looks was like a big experiment for us, Thats why we called it The Looks and not The Brains or The Talent." As far as what Keeler expects from fans, "Kids hear stuff now and don't know what it is and they go crazy, but when they know the [new] tracks and we play them, the crowd will explode."
So while many of us are biting our nails, awaiting for the album's arrival; it's good to know that these Electro Heavyweights haven't lost their touch. If anything, it's only going to be BIGGER, BOLDER, and BETTER.

Deadly Syndrome- Eucalyptus

Ever since their 2007 album debut, "The Ortolan," released on our label,  the Deadly Syndrome has delivered soothing, yet electrifying melodies.  Their single- Eucalyptus is the perfect example why everyone should keep a look out for this rising LA band.  The lyrics are so tantalizing, its surreal. Now, personally I have not been able to enjoy a compilation of whimsical, slow, melodious tracks since the Garden State soundtrack, but "The Ortolan"is nothing less than fascinating. Eucalyptus takes us on a whim of distortion, yet expresses the emotions that we all can relate to. Every love-blinded individual can  appreciate this track.  I'm not sure if its the ongoing roller coaster through mountains and valleys of fundamentally tranquil lyrics that got me, but this joint really puts enjoying music to ease.  With an iTunes library crammed with heavy-hitting electro mixes like MSTRKRFT, Bloody Beetroots, and Boys Noize, this is definitely a change that I could get use to.

MSTRKRFT's B.O.U.N.C.E. video shoot at the Roxy June 4th.

All they do is party..
Once again MSTRKRFT does not disappoint.  If you all are clueless to what I'm referring to, well its the new single by the great electro duos themselves. Jesse and ALP make some of the dopest beats around.  Their album "The Looks" dropped off some crazy, heavy electro beats.   Just when I thought these guys have done it all, their new single B.O.U.N.C.E. ft N.O.R.E.  came back  with a BANG!!!

This single has made its way to some of LA's  hottest electro events. Everyone, including myself,  goes apeshit when DJ's start spinning this record.  So, since I've confessed how big of a fan I am, you can all imagine how excited I was when a Myspace bulletin was posted announcing, " B.O.U.N.C.E. video shoot by MSTRKRFT tonight at The Roxy" and the best part? It was free!

The first thing I saw was LAZARO CASANOVA spinning in center stage with just a few people on the dance floor.  Camera crews were running all over the place, trying to get some good shots of hipsters rocking out.  Then Felix Cartel joined the stage along with LA RIOTS spinning everything from old school Franchi to new MSTRKRFT joints.

The beat boys themselves finally  hit the stage, looking pretty jazzy in suits and ties I might add.  The crowd was going crazy, and N.O.R.E. came onstage to deliver a dope performance.  I really don't know how great the video turn out because it was just a bunch of people dancing, but the light effects and neon bars definitely enhanced the set.

Personally, I'm amazed every time about how insanely high the energy was whenever MSTRKRFT spins.   That's something only a few DJ's  can deliver because their beats are so electrifying and enticing.  This duo can seriously revamp any song and thats why I absolutely appreciate their music.   Just when the night could not get any better, Mr. DIM MAK himself, Steve Aoki, made a guest appearance and jumped onstage.  LA RIOTS, LAZARO, FElIX made it that much better.  Other electro junkies crowded the stage and got the party rolling.  It was an awesome experience to be part of another MSTRKRFT creation.
